Tensar geogrids provide an extremely cost-effective solution for the reinforcement of ballast over a soft subgrade, bringing significant benefits to the railway engineer.

There are two major application areas for the use of Tensar geogrids - within and beneath railway track ballast:

Reducing ballast deformation through the mechanical stabilisation of the ballast layer.

 

Improving track foundation through the mechanical stabilisation of the sub-ballast layer.

An alternative to increasing the depth of ballast, or adopting chemical stabilisation.       
Reduction of the rate of permanent settlement.
